Tired of organising or attending the Xth virtual beer with your team? Try out our latest discovery: GeoGuessr.

So what can replace the monthly salary beer with colleagues? A virtual beer is getting slightly awkward, especially when you have introverted or new team members.

So you need an activity. Meeting up outside might be more fun and safe, however, during the colder months the fun activity turns into an endurance challenge. Especially, if your weather forecast looks similar to ours.

Luckily, our engineering team leader Endre, discovered recently a great game that serves us as a good alternative.

The game is called GeoGuessr and is built on top of Google’s Street View. The rules of the game are simple. You and your team mates are dropped somewhere around the world and need to figure out where you are. Subsequently, you move around and explore the area in order to give your best guess based on what you see. Players compete against each other. The person guessing his location most accurately by placing a pin on Google Maps, gets the most points.

The cost is marginal and certainly less than an evening at the bar. GeoGuessr also offer group plans, perfect for companies.

The game turned out to be a lot of fun, a great way to socialize during the pandemic with colleagues, but most importantly, to keep our team spirit high. We hope it will do the same for you too.

Let us know in the comments section if you have any alternative games or ways to socialize!
